How to create Employment
Educated youth are mainly lacking three types of skills required in the industries.
- Effective Communication
- Analitical skill and problem solving
- Lack of expertise
In interviews approximately 60% candidates are rejected due to lack of communication skills. Rest 20% are rejected for lack of analitical skills and 10% percent for their lack of knowledge in their respective domain. Only ten percent of educated force of India is employable.
The problem lies in the education system. Indian education system has a mismatch with the requirements of the industries. Institutes teach what ever they want. They do not teach what industries require. Industries do not require what institutes teach. The syllabus committees have not been interfacing with the industries. Several big industries have to set-up their own in house training program to fight with the problem.
Most of the newly employed youths are compulsorily undergone employers own training program. This enhances cost of employers enormously. It also wastes time.
What should be done as a general measure to solve the problem?
The one point solution of the problem is a change in education system, a radical change. There must be an interface among Government bodies looking after education, Universities, all India committee of technical education and representatives of the industries. The institutes must educate as per industries’ needs.
Have these done, India will not face problem of un-employability and the youth force of India will not remain unemployed.
- EDUCATION SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE IMPROVED. IT MUST INCLUDE ABOUT FIFTY PERCENT ON THE JOB TRAINING OR PRACTICAL TRAINING AT EVERY LEVEL.
- DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY MUST BE SHIFTED TO VILLAGES AND SMALL CITIES.
- MIGRATION OF PEOPLE FROM FOREIGN COUNTRIES, METROS AND BIG CITIES SHOULD BE STOPPED.
- EXPORT OF EVERY ITEM NEED TO BE INCREASED BY INCREASING THE PRODUCTION.
Production Growth
It is necessary that increase the production in the various fields like agriculture, industries, information technology etc. The country need to help for development in various sectors like self employment, small sector industries.
Help for self employments
There are 65 percent peoples are involved in self employment of India. Most of them are belonging to agriculture. Some other sectors for self employment are small industries, real state, business etc. government should provides the special facilities for farmers like good quality of seed, fertilizations, watering , credit etc.
Change in industries technology
Industries should use to human power. So, country needs to open more industries for employments. Industries are the second sectors of the economics. It generates maximum vacancies for unemployed. Industries should focus on development of consumer product. Our industries technologies are traditional so it needs to change and use the method technology like information technology.
1) Development of Agricultural method:
In rural society, agriculture is the only source of employment of the people. If the method of agriculture has to be modernized and improved, the unemployment problem has to be eradicated. For this several steps should be taken into consideration.
Firstly, In India 50% of our agricultural land do not have enough water for cultivation. On the other side 50% of our river water go to sea with out any use. Hence all Indian rivers should be nationalized and inter connected. Then lacs and lacs of acres of land turn cultivable and crores of people will be employed. Secondly, methods of agriculture should be improved and as far as possible the farms should be freed from dependence on Nature. Thirdly, system of crops should be planned scientifically and developed sufficiently. Lastly modern agricultural equipment, good seeds, fertilizers, proper agricultural suggestion and so on should be provided to the rural farmers.
Thus if the agricultural system has to be improved in the above direction, it can afford sufficient employment facilities to the rural people throughout the year.
2) Reconstruction of Cottage Industries:
For the removing of unemployment problem in Rural Society, the various new cottage industries should be established and the old are also reconstructed. In order to provide employment opportunities to the landless people in the village, it is essential that various cottage industries should also develop.
The cottage industries like dairy farming, poultry farming, furniture making, basket making, bee keeping, weaving, tailoring, match stick making and so on afford large employment facilities to the rural people and help in eradication unemployment problem from Rural India to a considerable extent.
3) Development of transport and Communication:
In order to create the employment atmosphere in rural areas, it is essential on the part of the Govt. To develop the means of transport and communication to a large extent. It is true that unemployment problem can minimize only when the transport and communication systems are developed properly in rural areas. Because, the educated rural people who are not interested in agricultural work have to engage themselves in different occupations relating to business through transport.
4) Encouragement to small enterprises as against big enterprises
The employment objective and the output objective can be achieved, if greater investment is directed to small enterprises rather than to large enterprises. Now that the Government wants to undertake decentralized development with emphasis on small-scale enterprises, it would be desirable to reorient credit, licensing, raw material allocation and other policies in such a manner that both employment and output are enlarged simultaneously.
5) Encouragement of New Growth Centers in Small Towns and Rural Areas
Experience of planning has revealed that the overcrowded metropolitan centers have received a large share of investment. Therefore, the smaller towns should be developed as new growth centers for the future. The establishment of small industrial complexes can increase employment opportunities and provide flexibility to the economy.
